Staff

Nursery staff supervise the children at all times and child ratios are maintained. The room leaders hold an NVQ 4 in management. Qualifications include:
Childcare NVQ2, NVQ 3, NVQ 4, NNEB/NND, a trained Montessori and French teacher. Most staff hold food hygiene, first aid, level 2 Health & Safety, level 2 equal opportunities and manual handling certificates.
Other courses attended are:
- Foundation Degree in Childcare Management and Provisions.
- EYFS
- Sudden infant death syndrome
- Sign language
- Outdoor provisions
- Advanced behaviour management
- Special educational needs – common assessment framework
- Various other childcare related courses.
Nutrition
We provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, all cooked by our very own cook.
The cook provides the children with their appropriate nutritional meals. No salt is added and fresh fruit and vegetables are given twice a day. We try to meet the “5 a day”, so you can be rest assured that your child has had plenty of their daily requirement. The children even make their own sandwiches or make their fruit flan or cookies (for a special treat!).
An example of our delicious meals are; (all recipes are available for you to use at home, as the children loves them so much!)
Homemade, broccoli and stilton soup, chicken tikka masala, quesadeas and cooks hotpot.
