About The Little Georgian Day Nursery

Victoria Zsigmond

The nursery is owned by me, Victoria Zsigmond, I am the daughter of Dr Andrew Zsigmond, the Hungarian Consul here in Liverpool and I am the senior manager at the nursery.

Shirley is the manager and Cheree and Lyndsey, deputy managers. My managers are very experienced and have been qualified for many years; they all have their NVQ 4 in childcare management.

All of my dedicated staff work very well as a team, ensuring high standards and quality care through continuous training, striving to be the best in their field.

My first contact with children, was when I taught dance and drama for ages 2 years to adults in Woolton and then at Elliott Clarke School of dance and drama where I attended and trained as a child and teenager.

I took up a position in a school as a nursery assistant and received training in the Montessori Method of Education. After qualifying as a nursery nurse NVQ 3, I proceeded rapidly to manager of a nursery.

I have been a qualified nursery nurse and assessor for nearly 20 years and set up and established high quality nurseries in the North and South of Liverpool. This gave me the experience to start my own business.

My continuous training keeps me fully motivated, to ensure the high quality care I now provide today.

My objective is to allow each individual child, the opportunity to explore and develop through the Early Years Foundation Stage, enabling their full potential to be achieved. The welfare of your child is paramount and great care is given to provide a warm, safe, stimulating environment, catering for every Childs needs.

Should you be interested in booking a place at the nursery, please contact us any time and we will be happy to show you what we offer, introduce you to our team and give you an information and application pack.

About The Nursery

The little Georgian Day Nursery opened in September 2005.  It is situated in a beautiful Grade 2 listed town house. The nursery is housed over 3 floors, a baby unit for 0-2yrs on the lower levels and 2-4 yrs on the upper levels. The office is on the ground floor where management is always available.

As your child develops they will move to the room which is age and stage appropriate for them. They will be completely secure not having access to any other floor in the building.

The hallway has been restored to give the entrance a Georgian feel with the beautiful ornate ceilings being painted appropriately.  All of the children’s rooms are bright and stimulating with children’s work decorating the walls and the wooden floors enables us to keep the nursery hygienic.

The outside play area is a typical walled garden with trellises of leafy flowered plants, wooden barrels filled with flowers and a little wooden play house, which is used as a changing room, for children to change into their full waterproofs and wellies for a full experience of the outdoors.  The area is completely safe for your child with rubber flooring for them to play on.

A collection of resources for the continuous provision of learning and exploring is enhanced, with opportunities provided to “build and construct”, “make dens”,” have fun with water”,” dig for worms” and “feed the birds!”

This collection of resources captures children’s imaginations and stimulates extensive exploration, play and discussion.

The children will enjoy with your consent, trips to local parks and places of interest e.g. William Brown Library, St George’s Hall, the 2 famous Cathedrals and the Museums, which offer many exhibitions that the children can have a hands on experience with. We have even taken the children to West Kirby on the train to the beach!  The nursery has a 6 seater Kiddi pram, which you will often see out and about when the children go out for fresh air.
